Many successful stock photos feature clean and simple background. Busy backgrounds can introduce unnecessary clutter in the picture and distract viewer’s attention from the main subject. So pay attention to backgrounds and clear out any visual “noise” and distracting elements.
Some examples of things to avoid on the background are distracting wires against the sky, trees and lamp poles that appear to be growing out of someone’s head, or horizons going through someone’s body. The less background distractions, the better.
Images of people and objects on white background can be some of the most useful for designers because they can easily cut and paste them into a new design or add to their own backgrounds to create an entirely new idea.
